At 3:28 a.m., police responded to Astor Street near Pennsylvania Avenue on a report of a shooting, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Officers were advised a man had arrived at University Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and is in stable condition, Fragé said.
